What are autism diagnostic appointments like?
At Meliora Health, autism diagnostic appointments involve three visits to ensure an accurate autism diagnosis:

  1. Diagnostic Interview – A 90-minute session to understand your child’s developmental and behavioral history.
  2. Behavioral Observation – A 30-90 minute assessment to observe social interactions, communication, and behavior.
  3. Feedback Session – A 30-60 minute meeting to review the diagnostic report and discuss next steps.

Before the first visit, parents (and sometimes teachers) complete rating scales to provide additional insights. Our goal is to deliver accurate autism assessments and personalized recommendations to support your child’s needs.

What are ADHD appointments like?

At Meliora Health, ADHD diagnostic appointments involve two visits for accurate ADHD assessment:

  1. Diagnostic Interview – A comprehensive session with you and your child to evaluate attention, behavior, and developmental history.
  2. Feedback Appointment – A follow-up visit to review the ADHD assessment results and discuss personalized recommendations.

Before the first visit, parents and teachers fill out rating scales to provide helpful insights. Our team ensures accurate ADHD diagnosis and customized care plans to support your child’s growth and success.

What should I expect in an ABA order appointment?

In this appointment, you’ll meet with a member of our developmental pediatrics team or a clinical psychologist. We will review proof of an autism diagnosis to determine if Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is medically necessary. The written order will be available in the patient portal after the visit. These appointments typically last 60-80 minutes.

Do you have physical locations?

No, Meliora Health is a fully virtual practice. We provide high-quality care through telehealth, allowing families to access expert providers from home. This approach offers greater schedule flexibility and shorter wait times.

How does a virtual assessment differ from an in-person assessment for Autism and ADHD? Is virtual care accurate?

At Meliora Health, our virtual assessments for autism and ADHD are as accurate as in-person evaluations. The only difference is the convenience of doing it from home. Our team has years of experience diagnosing and treating autism and ADHD both in person and through telehealth.

Studies show no difference in diagnostic accuracy between virtual and in-person assessments when done by trained experts. You can trust our team to provide accurate and thorough evaluations, no matter the setting.

Does Meliora conduct diagnostic evaluations for conditions other than ADHD and Autism?

Not at this time. We focus on pediatric care for ADHD and autism.
